Capturing a Moment in Time

My favorite subjects to paint are landscapes or scenes that capture an emotion or a moment in time. These are universally appealing subjects. The strongest reaction I get to my work happens when the viewer is reminded of a place or time that was meaningful to them; the play of light in the shadows on the ground or a rustic old building that reminds them of childhood memory.

These images are like shared memories and I love to share them with others.

Here is one of my most recent paintings that captures both of the subjects I love to paint. An old building and a sunlit setting.
